As part of being a Cyprus wedding photographer, not only do I get to witness many storybook romances unfolding before my eyes, I have the pleasure of visiting many stunning locales: Hotels, parks, beaches, historic districts, etc. Through such experiences, I have come to realise how important surroundings are when attempting to create those perfect memories which will last a lifetime, and which will immortalise the power of love in the minds of all in attendance.
The wedding of Leah and Scott, which took place at the Olympic Lagoon Resort here in Cyprus, was one such event: Stunning from start to finish. As you can see from the images, no detail was missed, nothing intruded on the proceedings to break the mood as this happy couple declared their everlasting devotion to one another. In a sense, the hotel was as much a part of the celebration as the guests, an entity which served to wrap the ceremony in an aura of almost otherworldly beauty, as if we had been transported back to the mythical Mount Olympus itself to witness the glory and opulence of the Gods.
All of this got me thinking on why more couples should consider hotels and resorts, and not just for destination weddings in Cyprus. Even if you plan to wed close to home, deciding to book a hotel for your ceremony and reception is a good idea because:
-Hotels are experienced caterers. When you host your wedding in a quality resort hotel, you know that you will get catering service which is on time and which provides five-star food for everyone in attendance. You won’t have to think about how to feed a large number of people.
-Hotels provide easy lodging. While this is—obviously—necessary for a destination wedding in Cyprus, even if you’re not travelling yourself, chances are good that at least some of your guests will have to drive or fly in to attend your wedding. Therefore, having it in a hotel makes it easy for them to go directly from the festivities to their beds.
-Staff will be on hand to help with your every request. Last minute problems and needs can be a major source of stress on your wedding day—but not if a trained, courteous staff is on hand to make sure nothing gets in the way of your bliss. Hotels are used to hosting weddings, and as such, they know what to do and how to help, no matter how outlandish your request might seem.
-They provide the perfect backdrop for stunning photographs. This is a fact I know intimately as a Cyprus wedding photographer; whether it’s the light glinting off the pool and reflecting in the bride’s eyes, the glow of ambient lighting caressing faces full of love, or the contrast of rich velvet and gilding against a pure white gown—hotels provide exactly the kind of elements that we destination wedding photographers delight in.
Love, after all, is a paradise—an evergreen oasis deep in the heart which nourishes us even in the harshest and darkest of times—so why not celebrate its deepest commitment in a beautiful haven such as this?
