Ankita and Ravi, a beautiful young couple I recently photographed at Kurion Beach here in the Molos Area of Limassol, have learned one the sweetest truths in life: That love grows richer over time, like a fine wine ageing, adding notes both sweet and bold as joys flute through the days and times of sorrow shared deepen the undercurrents of trust.
Ankita and Ravi originally met through their families two and a half years ago, and immediately experienced a profound draw to one another. Though they seldom got to spend time together in person, as Ravi was in Cyprus and Ankita still back home in India, this connection was one that distance could not weaken; the couple was wed in India after just 5 months of knowing one another.
After the ceremony, they both decided to settle here in Cyprus, making this sun-bathed, beach-studded island the scene of their love’s first great unfolding, letting it blossom among the hills and harbours as finally, physical separation was a thing of the past.
The couple soon became partners in every sense of the world, turning to one another with everything, functioning as both spouses and best friends—that type of union which is both passionate and comfortable, and always the most lasting.
Ravi was uplifted on hard days by Ankita’s playful sense of humour and her uniquely stunning smile, which causes her eyes to glitter like diamonds full of priceless mirth, and Ankita found a gentle understanding always at the ready thanks to Ravi’s thoughtful, sensitive nature. For Ravi, Ankita is an eternal well of inspiration, and to Ankita, Ravi is the sincere, honest, kind hand of guidance.
As Cyprus is such a special place for this couple, one whose sunlit fields and winding streets hold precious memories of radiant smiles, tender kisses, and whispers of secrets told in confidence for the first time, Ravi and Ankita decided to capture the soul of their time here with an after-wedding photo shoot before they leave the island next month. Each of the photos, taken to honour their 2nd anniversary on the 11th of July, holds a key to one of many blissful moments spent talking, striding along the beach, having a drink together, or just silently basking in one another’s love.
While this is in ways the end of an era for Ankita and Ravi, I am sure that wherever they go from here, happiness will trail behind their footfalls, and the morning sun will always rise to greet their smiles.
