The concept of a friendship that has blossomed into the flames of passion is entirely fitting, I think, to describe the energy of Froso and Giorgos, whose engagement photoshoot I recently shot in Cyprus. Both of these inviduals embody something so dynamic, so active and bold, that it cannot be described, and must be felt instead. Certainly, this joie de vivre underlies both their love and their great success in life.
Giorgos (or George, in English), who orginally comes from the little village of Farmakas, is now a talented IT specialist working in the bustling little city of Nicosia (Cyprus’s capital). As a boy, Giorgos grew up in the shadow of the beautiful Troodos Mountains, and in his rugged features one can see the echoes of those wild peaks and crags.
Froso, Giorgos’ beautiful bride, grew up in Lakatamia, a village very close to Nicosia, where she works today as a fitness trainer in the city’s most famous gym. One can see from the sparkle in her eyes alone how she could inspire people to get healthy and active, how she no doubt brings out the best in people.
Froso and Giorgos contacted me to shoot both their wedding and their engagement photoshoot; as I am based in Limassol, we decided to shoot there, in the old town. The architecture there was the perfect contrast to this modern couple, making them seem all the more vibrant and youthful as they basked in one another’s love.
Surrounded by the sunny climate of Cyprus, one can see from the photographs that these lovers were as joyous as children at play, full of an enrapturing health and vitality that shone in the smiles they beamed at one another. Such love seems like a spark of the divine, something golden and everlasting that is somehow found right here on Earth.
