Our latest blog post is somewhat more unusual than many of the posts that have been published in the past, as this particular photo session was taken of two professional photographers: Anit and Bijal.
Anit and Bijal come from Leicester, UK, where they run a successful photography business shooting Hindu, Sikh and Christian weddings. They recently came to Cyprus for a destination wedding, and decided to have a photo session to commemorate their engagement before their wedding takes place in November 2014.
After some email correspondence with Anit and Bijal, we arranged to meet in Paphos at the King Jason Hotel to discuss the shoot and get a feel for what they wanted from their session. I soon discovered that they themselves were professional photographers, which made the entire process that much more thrilling and interesting.
Shortly after our photo session got underway, the heavens opened and a huge storm arrived! But this didn’t stop me from giving Anit and Bijal an unforgettable photo session and beautiful engagement album. Instead of following our itinerary we improvised, making the most of the change in climate to capture a shoot that came from the heart. The end result is quite simply stunning.
As we made our way through Paphos with this destination wedding photographer couple I used my skills to take advantage of every possible photography opportunity available. We shot photos in the middle of the road, on the beach and near beachside caves, all while the rain continued to pour.
Eventually the rains passed and the sun reappeared from behind the clouds, where the sky developed into a stunning mix of oranges, blues, purples and yellows, which complemented wonderfully with the outfits worn by our gorgeous couple.
My first experience with a destination wedding photographer couple was inspiring and incredibly fun. The photos we captured are truly heartfelt, demonstrating the sense of humour that the couple possess as well as the strong bond that runs deep between them.
The album is a wonderful commemoration of the fun, laughter and joy that Anit and Bijal experienced throughout the shoot. They loved the photos so much that although this might have been my first destination wedding photographer experience, it certainly won’t be my last.
